Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of DevLokalize, including our website, REST API, and mobile SDKs (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when registering and are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account, including actions taken by anyone you invite to a project.

2. Subscription plans and billing

• Free — no cost, limited usage as described on our pricing page.
• Pro and Business — paid monthly subscriptions billed in advance through Stripe. Plan limits and included features are described on the pricing page and may change with notice.
• You can cancel anytime from your account billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — we don't provide partial-period refunds except where required by law.
• Plan limits and paid features are governed by the project owner's subscription, not the plan of individual contributors or reviewers on that project.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the source strings, translations, comments, and other content you submit to the Service ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a license to host, store, process, and display it solely as necessary to operate the Service — for example, rendering it in the editor, including it in exports, or serving it via the API or SDKs to your own applications.

If you set a project to Public, you're choosing to make that project's content visible to anyone, including its source strings and approved translations, and to let signed-in users submit suggested translations to it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to store or distribute unlawful content.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or project.
• Abuse, scrape, or overload the Service or API beyond documented rate limits, or circumvent plan limits.
• Upload malware or attempt to disrupt the Service's infrastructure.
• Use a public project to distribute spam, harassment, or content that infringes others' rights.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. API and SDK usage

REST API and SDK access is available on the Business plan and gated by API tokens tied to your account. Keep your tokens confidential — you're responsible for activity performed with them. API usage is subject to the rate limits documented in our API reference.

6. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party providers (Stripe for billing, Resend for email, Google Translate/DeepL/Anthropic for machine translation suggestions, Google for optional sign-in). Your use of features backed by these providers is also subject to their own terms.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your projects at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, or if we discontinue the Service, with notice where practical.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that machine translation suggestions are accurate — they're a starting point for a human reviewer, not a substitute for one.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DevLokalizewon't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll make a reasonable effort to notify active users. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
